Debonair Ezreal 3.0 - (Fan Design) League of Legends

Had a lot of fun exploring different ways to modernize and revamp Debonair Ezreal and continue the narrative through a new clan! Great thanks to Erai Violett for feedback that helped re-direct this project, along with the EzrealMains subreddit for additional pointers! Learned to investigate within the box more to further understanding the topic before going outside of it.

Learned a lot through this reimagining of revamping a skin to an existing skinline, but still make it different! Ezreal has a fox mask as well.

The two beauty shots that contributed to the final design! The fur and masks on the red iteration, along with the blue iteration's formal wear became points that I really liked to portray that classiness.

Another concept pass! The green really popped back then.

VFX ideas, full of crystals and chandeliers, making Ezreal classy and snappy.

Early initial ideations. The fedora was pretty unique! But it didn't fit Ezreal unfortunately. There were also too many blue skins in Ezreal's closet as well.

In-game fast iterations to cherry pick, combine, and focus on seeing shapes/silhouette first and foremost! Reminded me of a RPG-maker.

By putting myself out for feedback, also learned how to balance feedback by identifying what is working (simplicity, lack of overall magic) and also more of what to work on (specific shape language, narrative purpose) while also being free to experiment!

After these tests, wanted to converge on one of these Debonair 2.0 designs but I had to remind myself that this is still a study - something to take away to understand better in order to create something new!

With a new concept pass, I began imagining motifs that could fit for Ezreal, like the snappiness of a pocket watch, or the way steam can play a role in his abilities.

Ezreal is known for his slippery nature, so exploring fox-like masquerade masks seems to fit him narratively. Got feedback that the original mask was too "porcelain" (A), so taking a step back and reanalyzing what makes masks Victorian helped a lot.

One interesting way to reference for fashion, was to take inspiration from architecture because patterns reflects the time period they were in - and thus fashion as well.
