It was awesome teaming up with 2 talented programmers (Jessy Song and Shawn Jung) this weekend and building up "Root of All Evil" within 48 hours at Vancouver GGJ 2023!
The theme this year is "Roots" and with each of us having a common similarity of being hoomans of 2 cats, we knew we had to do it! By playing an alien cat, you wreck havoc in the house without being seen by hoomans, and call the boss down to the party once you do so.
.
We hope this game served as a surprise for players, delighting them with easter eggs (and cat memes), 22 interactive objects, and the ability to loaf-sit/purr/meow!
It was great learning to communicate how art assets fits on their end, and bringing to life a vision that did not exist 48 hours ago (I feel like the more I work with programmers, the more I'm convinced they are magicians). Always, always a blast working in game jams and I'm incredibly grateful to be part of Team Hooman. Looking forward to creating more games!!

Sound on! A fun challenge having to watch out for any incoming hoomans before you cause chaos, like a real cat would.
Before Interact-> After Interact. Yes, the cat spits out a goldfish.
